Types of COMMUNICATIONS

* Oral communications
* Poster presentations
* Performances and demonstrations (including experiments, science shows, drama, computer simulations, virtual experiments or multimedia material)
* Experiment’s presentation at the Science Fair
* Workshops and discussion’s groups

Plenary sessions

Speakers with international renown will be invited. The plenary session’s schedules will be confirmed after the call for abstracts is completed.

Plenary session’s time limit: 20 minutes presentation + 10 minutes for discussion.

Oral and poster presentations

Oral communications will be presented in parallel sessions and may be 12 minutes in duration + 3 minutes for discussion. Poster presentations have the same level of importance and appreciation as oral presentations or hands-on demonstrations at the science fair. We expect that poster presentations will be available for the full duration of the meeting (depending on the number of submission or on participant’s request, more than one abstract session might be scheduled).
Posters’ format must be A0 (84x118 cm).

An abstract of up to 300 words describing the main points and conclusions of the presentation should be provided as soon as possible and no later than May 25, 2015. Electronic submission is available.

The submission of full papers (between three and twelve pages long) is not mandatory but it's welcome before deadline (June 22nd) in order to allow the printing and distribution of the proceedings book at the conference at the registration desk.

Performances and demonstrations

Science communicators can present stage moments dedicated to scientific performances such as shows, plays, drama, computer simulations, virtual experiments or multimedia material. Scientific performances and demonstration’s schedules will be confirmed after the call for abstracts is completed and presentations are selected.

Time limit: 20 to 60 minutes

Workshops and discussion’s groups

Science communicators can present practical training aiming hands-on activities, e.g. good practices of science education (techniques/methods of teaching/learning, educational software/hardware, all kinds of experiments…).

Discussion’s group sessions will be scheduled for the discussion of particular topics (such as scientific literacy, women and science, science and society, ethics, R&D, life-long learning, science museums and informal learning). Session’s schedules will be confirmed after the call for abstracts is completed and workshops and discussion’s groups are selected.

Time limit: 20 to 60 minutes

A short abstract of no more than 300 words describing the activity must be submitted by May 25, 2015. Electronic submission is available.

Science fair

Schools, research institutions, commercial companies, science clubs, teams and or groups of students or teachers, and individuals may prepare a booth to present their work at the Conference’ Science Fair.
Science fair’s schedules will be confirmed after the call for abstracts is completed and science fairs are selected.
